What does it means to be truly alive?

This artwork was inspired by a guitar exhibited in a restaurant in an eclectic surrounding for surfers.

This mixed medium artwork includes a collage and gold leaf for the guitar as well as acrylic paint. It is inspired by Georges Braque. The forms of the guitar are deconstructed. “The idea of transformation is most often symbolized by the butterfly which takes a completely different form, “trans-forms”, from one part of its life to the next”. I'm a French artist currently living in Muizenberg, Cape Town. I started L’Ecole d’Art in Chalon-sur-Saone when I was six years old. Since then, I have taken many art classes in England and in the US where I lived for nine years. When I arrived in South Africa in 2011, I started oil painting at the Studio with Carol Laws then carried on with acrylics with Anastasia Sarantinou at the Blue Planet Fine Art Studio in Muizenberg. I've exhibited some artworks at the Blue Planet Fine Art Studio. I have been painting at my own studio since 2018. My main themes are my love for nature, butterflies, people and music. I also enjoy doing collages and love mixed medium, textures, patterns as well as the gold leaf. I mostly work from my own photographs. My artwork evolves with what inspires me in my travels and in my life every day. I'm interested in the process of trans-formation of consciousness. My artworks aim to evoke transformation with the butterfly, transcendence and transmutation with the gold. To reflect on the cycle of life, the miracle of life, the sense of lightness and joy and our own divinity.
