About The Artwork
A visit to the maple tree copse with changing colours for the winter coming. The green leaves, still on the trees, are overcome by the reds before they are swept to the ground by the dry winds. Red Leaf Season Blending Greens Flame Orange - paper size: 594mm x 420mm (A2) - Hannamuelle German etching 310 gsm In this series the landscape shaped pieces are using the golden ratio. I won’t go into all details about this here but essentially the ratio between the long and the short side is 1.61803. To be precise, this should be (1+√5)/2. The golden ratio rectangle is one of many dynamic rectangles that can be rationally divided into visually interesting shapes. Handle carefully without touching the image. Frame the print with 2mm Artglass AR70. Float the print so that all of the paper is visible but use a spacer to keep the print away from the glass.

My current work makes use of geometry to combine photographic images with colours and shapes. The work is created digitally and then printed on museum quality archival paper. The images are also displayed on my web site with words that reflect the nature of the combinations. The prints include a QR code that links back to the web based image with associated words - a digital caption, so to speak.
