About The Artwork

My pictorial work was born from the self-reflection of our identity and how we perceive our existence. My older artworks were portraits questioning the understanding of reality and they evolved to simpler structures. The figures were gradually disintegrating into organic and crude formations. I gave meaning to the physical existence of the characters, a new role in a new primitive live form. They keep the human essence which is represented through the depiction of the faces. But they are contextualized in a different way, by being stripped from the body, history, and representation. Despite these circumstances, evolution tries to manage its own survival strategies of adaptation into this new reality. The goal of my work is to show a simplification of the human being in a primary and pure state. To reach this state a lonely journey into our human condition is necessary, hereby the contemporary world in which we live in has to be given up. A deconstruction of our consciousnesses, a reformulation of ourselves, a microscopic advancement to our existence
