Mars is the planet that has most excited the human imagination since the publication of "The War of the Worlds" by G.H. Wells. So much so that for several generations the words Martian and extraterrestrial were synonymous. Or so it seemed in my childhood. During my childhood Mars was a magical place, perhaps because of the Edgar Rice Burroughs publications of John Carter, lent to me by a friend from school. Until they gave my brother Javier a copy of "Cosmos" by Carl Sagan. I clearly remember the photos of the chapter "Blues for a red planet" where small trenches were dug in Crise by a mechanical arm of the Viking probe. They looked like they were made in beach sand. It was so close, so accessible. You just had to stretch your arm ... At that moment Mars went from being a magical place for me to becoming a "place". -------------------------------------------------- ------------------- Intaglio inks and natural sienna ink on aged Canson paper (with a patch of tears typical of a nineteenth-century restoration). Study and record of the planet with rotation time, translation, axis angle, astronomical units to the sun, etc. with observations in Latin. This collection is the expression of two of my earliest obsessions, astronomy and the "found manuscripts" (late medieval illuminated manuscripts and the notes of Renaissance astronomers). The starting point of this collection arises from the game of imagining how astronomers such as Copernicus, Galileo or Kepler would have shaped Pluto's geography, the orbit of an exoplanet or a black hole. And Mars, the red planet, the god of war, is the planet that has most excited the imagination of everyone who has looked at the sky.

I am an artist and designer. I grew up in Alcobendas and settled in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, in 2003, where I currently reside. From a very young age I developed an enormous interest in history, art history and analog photography, which led me to study Fine Arts, focusing on the world of restoration, thinking about the masters of the Italian Renaissance and the Spanish Baroque. Although finally the absence of creativity in this field of work and study led me to another path. I worked for a time as a copyist at the Prado Museum to study how to paint my favorite classics, and then I devoted myself exclusively to everything that caught my attention both in terms of subjects and techniques (engraving, woodcut, inks on greasy paper, mural painting, egg tempera, polymeric putties with marble dust, etc.) I work as an illustrator in various specialized magazines, as a web designer, creating storyboards for film and television. I went through several multidisciplinary artistic formations, the last one being "Make Make Creative Process". During the study with this artistic training, focused on the synaesthetic process and creativity, I find a line to develop (Prometheu error: conjunction of body, movement, music and space) in which I am currently immersed.
