About The Artwork
I decided to draw Whoopi's portrait first of all because I admire her. She is not only a talented actress but a human rights activist and a reference of black culture. Here in the role of Oda Mae Brown she won an Oscar. For the creation I used Caran d'Ache grafwood graphite pencils, from the hardest to the softest pencil. They are excellent for bringing out the infinite nuances and shadows whitin this drawing. The support is a 220 gram sheet of Fabriano paper.
