About The Artwork
This is a toner transfer. I have been working with transfer printing for several years. I like small scale, especially working out of a small studio apartment. The original photograph is of prints leaves left in the fall on the sidewalk. I enjoy the process of hand-colouring my prints. My work often focuses on neglected things in the urban environment that most people don’t register. I aim to show that beauty is always around and found in unexpected places if you shift your focus.

Independent Artist. I have been creating art for several decades and am inspired by my academic research in visual representations of history. I hold a master's degree in Cultural Studies from the University of London and have studied in two PHD programs, one at the University of Kentucky in the Philosophy Department. I was trained in continental philosophy and women's studies at DePaul University Chicago, where I earned my BA in both disciplines. Additionally, I am attracted to industrial and urban sites where I find beauty in what others describe as ugly.
