About The Artwork

The theme of contrast and balance is resolved in the juxtaposition, in the closeness between one color and the other, that come together in a circular and colorful whole. Mixing is the result of different elements in a single whole, accentuated by the finished shape of the circle. There hope is that humanity also finds a balance in its approach and mixing. The choice of colors is essential to balance the tones exactly as in human experience.

Sin is the pseudonym that I chose: Sin is the abbreviation of Sinusoide and it is also the "ending" of my surname. I am fascinated by this line, as its undulating pattern symbolizes the ongoing creation. In fact, the line of the sinusoid, which descends and rises tirelessly, in an endless change, resembles me. I also experimented with various creative activities: I worked for many years in the fashion sector as a model maker, I studied contemporary art at the University and in the meantime I took lessons in painting techniques privately. Amplitude and pulsation, which are characteristic of the sinusoid, are words that fascinate me a lot, they also make me think about the properties of colors that can approach or move away, give a sense of infinity and at the same time vibrate and palpitate causing our emotions. In the same way I choose colors for their chromatic and sensorial qualities. I reproduce images that arouse an emotion in me, and simultaneously ignite my imagination, I often mix realism and abstraction. I dedicate myself to the creation of tapestries created with scissors, thread and color, I create waves that come out of the canvas and "move" with the viewer. In the canvases I choose to paint feminine, fluid and flowing forms and bodies. I love P. Klee, H. Matisse, V. Kandinsky, E. Schiele, M. Rothko and many, many others. My name is Sandra Bresin, I was born in Switzerland in 1961, I live and work in the Friuli province, in the north-east of Italy.
