About The Artwork
Flowers are my favorite thing to paint. I live in Austin Tx. and here I have a community garden I take care of everyday, so I am very familiar with botanical things. My artwork depicts a grouping of stylized, expressive flowers with six petals each. The flowers are rendered in soft, muted pink and lavender hues with hints of yellow and blue. The petals are first were formed by my hot glue gun for texture and when the paint was scraped off turns to white. I am hoping my painting will let the viewer see it's delicate, ethereal quality. The background consists of a textured, dark blue and green wash, creating a striking contrast that makes the flowers stand out prominently. The overall effect of the piece is both tranquil and dynamic, with a sense of gentle movement in the flower arrangement. Thanks for viewing!
