About The Artwork

The rubber tree is a tryptic created in 2016 featuring the Amazon forest and the rubber trees. I used tires to print the tree textures. Printed in Japanese paper, I waved and overlapped layers of printed paper to create a mystical plantation in the middle of the jungle. Each canvas is 48 X 36 inches, totalizing 48 X 108 inches. Mixed Media on canvas. I print the tires' designs on Japanese paper and cut, paste, and paint on canvas. I printed directly from the tires and created each tree with its texture, connecting product and primary source.
