About The Artwork

Tabriz, the artist's birthplace, is a historical town on the Silk Road. Tabriz has been a place of cultural exchange since antiquity, and its historic bazaar complex, depicted here, is one of the most important commercial centers on the Silk Road. Bahadori borrows a scene from Eskandar-Nâmeh (The Romance of Alexander the Great) by the great sage poet of the east Nizami of Ganja (Azerbaijan) when Alexander arrives in Barda (another city in Azerbaijan) his exhaustion turns into amazement when the sun strikes the windows of caravansary he had spent the night in. The artist created this multimedia art by digitally altering and combining his own photograph and study painting, attaching the printed pieces as mosaics onto the canvas, and then painting over it. This painting has a beautiful floater frame. Please see the additional photos.
