About The Artwork
This is a toner transfer. I have been working with transfer printing for several years. I like small scale, especially working out of a small studio apartment. I enjoy the process of hand-colouring my prints. This is part of a series I produced to understand the traumatic events I experienced. I found the night sky (using astronomy tables) under which the traumatic event occurred. Making art out of the experience provides a way to make beauty out of ugly, which is a significant theme in my work.

I hold a master's degree in Cultural Studies from the University of London and have studied in two PHD programs, one at the University of Kentucky in the Philosophy Department. I was trained in continental philosophy and women's studies at DePaul University Chicago, where I earned my BA in both disciplines.
