From Bahadori's Architectural series, Undercurrent first debuted in his solo show, "Inner Gardens," which was selected by the McLean Project for the Arts as one of the three annual Spring 2024 Solo Shows with a highly competitive jury (3/300+ submissions). The artist's "Inner Gardens" collection, including this painting, is inspired by abandoned buildings taken over by nature. Bahadori uses the geometrical and organic forms of his imaginary architecture, flora, and fauna as color fields. "I hope my color palette brings hope and my fantastic and impossible concepts bring awareness about how challenging our current environmental dilemmas are," says the artist. The Washington Post's art critic, Mark Jenkin, wrote a great review on Bahadori's Inner Gardens Solo show on May 31, 2024, weekend Art and Style section.

Abol Bahadori is a prizewinning mixed-media artist based in the United States. He was born in Tabriz, the capital of Iranian Azerbaijan. As a child, he was inspired by the colorful carpets in his home. He won the "Best Young Artist" prize in the local schools at age nine. He studied art in his hometown and later in Manchester, England. Bahadori has been frequently selected by the Washington Project for Arts and The Art League, Alexandria, VA, for annual art auctions and solo shows with many best-in-show awards.
