From the series entitled, "Kitsch" this piece was inspired by thinking about the many things that are placed on users. Whether it is intentional or not in this framework, I started thinking about digital cookies that led to creating physical cookies and suspending them on multiple planes of plexiglass. Behind everything is a camera(optional) that takes footage of viewers, which makes it seem(when projected or on a flatscreen)that people are walking amongst cookies. It is a fun piece for sure and many who have seen it were enthralled by it's infinity like reflections, the many colorful cookies, and the humor, as well as, seriousness of the subject matter. I choose the medium, because it was a challenge to make cookies out of paint, which were sweetly symbolic of the digital cookies.

I was born in Wild Rose Wisconsin. Growing up in a rural area I spent hours exploring and building forts, which I feel had an impact on my creative development. Later, I went to two art schools, where I obtained a BFA and MFA. My work usually crosses boundaries in disciplines. I love parts of sculpture, painting, and film and I usually end up fusing the three together. Often, there's a good deal of plexi, mold making, custom cut masking, painting, and film aspects going on all at once. As far as film goes I lean more to being influenced by Bruce Naumen. Whereas, as far as form goes I was influenced by Tim Hawkinson.
