About The Artwork
"131023" is from my "Flamingos stand easy on bended knees" series. I felt that the way flamingos stand on one leg with ease also surrounds the relationships between the different color layers in this work. With a height of 230cm it's currently the tallest work in my collection. My work primarily involves painting with diluted acrylics applied directly onto raw unprimed cotton or linen to explore relationships between transparent color layers - mainly red and magenta hues. This painting breathes on raw cotton.
