This contemporary painting, crafted in oil on paper and enhanced with touches of spray, draws inspiration from classic tapestries and the mystical influence of numerology, specifically the number 2121. The piece blends the intricate, woven designs of traditional tapestries with a modern, vibrant flair. Sprays of color add dynamic energy, while the recurring motif of 2121 weaves through the composition, symbolizing balance, harmony, and new beginnings. This fusion of old and new, traditional craftsmanship and modern technique, creates a visually striking work that resonates with both historical depth and contemporary significance.

I am interested in certain images from which I can extract relevant information. It wouldn't make sense for me to make a total abstraction, or something clearly recognizable. I think it is important to maintain a geometric or structural remnant that promotes the sensation of remembering something, a visual construction to decipher or understand. Horror vacui generated by the influence of Tapestry Art, ceramics, mosaics, heraldic shields or Japanese prints into the context of hypertext painting let me play with the white background of the paper or canvas that acts as a context between the spontaneity of the brushstrokes. On a practical level, I am interested in superimposing, skewing the information in the image, placing tension on the margin or playing with color through pictorial exercises of freedom.
