Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum are the two names of Allah (SWT) which mean The Ever-Living and The Sustainer. Allah says “call upon Me; I will respond to you [Quran 40:60]. So invoke Allah by His greatest names to desperately seek His mercy. We often face hurdles and distress in our life. Allah calls Himself Al-Qayyoom— The Sustainer, The Self-Subsisting— on three occasions in the Quran. Al-Qayyoom is the One who is self-existing while every being exists through Him and because of Him. He is completely free of any dependence on anything else, while the whole creation depends entirely on Him.
