About The Artwork
I am inspired by horizons and the mysteries of distance, skies and cloud patterns. The paintings create a feeling of calm with a spacial and emotional depth. The works are inspired by 19th century romanticism (Turner and Caspar David Friedrich amongst others). A wet-on-wet technique is used with oil paint onto canvas. There is some impasto brush work and sometimes a palette knife is used. Paintings are supplied unframed (which suits the subject matter) and are on museum quality stretchers that have added depth. D rings are attached for hanging.
