About The Artwork
In painting terms I am exploring the meeting place of forms, the encountered 'line', on the canvas. Be that a horizon, or an enclosed space. The work exploits an expression of the dry Australian landscape as a metaphor for an internal landscape, or map. There is no horizontal or vertical orientation. I layer canvas to create new and unexpected forms, and apply emotive colour to those forms to achieve unity.
