About The Artwork
This is a mixed media work on Canvas. It is Life-Size in nature and executed with use of cement for texture. This is the first work from the series I called "Artifacts of Archetypes". It portrays what appears to be a fillet, a shroud, ritual garment, an artifact of an archetype from a long time ago. The intention is to bring to life, to materialize ideas and long time desired by Christianity, mementos of faith. The use of thick resin coat creates an illusion of glass incased artifact one might find in a museum. Although it is a dark piece of art, with heavy emotional subtext, it is sure to be a conversation piece and an immediately recognizable image. The painting does not require a frame and comes ready to be displayed
