This piece is a fully rendered painting with a dress appliquéd to the canvas. The work speaks to women's ability to choose; To cover or expose. To control ones own destiny. The Desire series honors women and their stories by asserting: We own our desire. Our lust, our hunger is ours. No one else writes our stories or holds the key to our longing. No one can edit or pen the well that resides within. We may not wear our truth on our sleeve, but hear this, No matter how deeply guarded or shrouded in cultural expectations, our truths are alive within.
