About The Artwork
I saw a picture in a newspaper of a woman being rescued from a fire at a nightclub in Germany and it reminded me of Ruben's descent from the Cross. In place of the Christ figure I have a young woman carrying the Torah symbolic of the fact that Judaism is inherited along the female line and it is thanks to the courage and survival of Jewish women from the holocaust, that this faith group remains vibrant and growing to this day.
