About The Artwork
During lockdown a friend delieverd a small bunch of beautiful flowers every Thursday which kept me very happy and occupied. To paint every petal is not my thing, but to capture the lyricism, movement, shape and joy is what I aim for. The initial drawing I captured with the same approach to my life drawing - quick - as though time were limited to keep a freshness about it. I am a big Matisse fan and I think he is here somewhee in this painting. Although it has a very 'Natalie' signature about it, it is definitely an noticeable evolution of my work and I have lockdown to thank for that!
