Para hacer esta obra me inspiré en la primavera. Un día iba caminando hacia la ermita de la Virgen del Santuario de Valverde (Patrona de Fuencarral) en Madrid, a los lados del camino podemos encontrar numerosas plantas de retamas y de pyracanthas que florecen en esta época del año y que le dan al paisaje una tonalidad y un perfume sin igual. Me cautivó tanto el escenario que quise plasmarlo en una obra.
