About The Artwork
The Eurasian Chaffinch is a regula visitor of the birdfeeder in my garden. The males of this species have a wonderful, almost tropical colored feather palette, with their bluesh head, rusty read chest and bright yellow spots on their wing feathers. I wanted to paint tnis bird in the style of the masters of the Golden Age, with a dark background and stark lighting to bring ot this beautiful little bird Acrylics on matte board
