About The Artwork

Do you notice small things that happen in a day? Motes of dust that catch the morning light? A breeze across your cheek on a warm day? The sound of crickets at dusk? On a good day, I think most of us do. "Have You Ever" is a graphic abstract landscape composed of organic forms and uplifting energy. It's a prompt to notice the commonplace, everyday things that make you feel alive. Layered gestural marks interface with complementary colored forms highlighted by the more neutral white/tan/gray. Please see additional photos for details. Full size is 43H x 72W inches, leaving ample canvas to stretch to its 38 x 67 inch image as shown. This striking painting is signed on back and ships in a tube. Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, placed onto wooden stretcher bars) by a local framer upon arrival.

Featured in Saatchi Art collections and catalog, Michelle Louis is a full-time painter based near Madison, Wisconsin. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions, and included in corporate, public, and private collections throughout the United States and abroad, including the National Gallery of Costa Rica. She's licensed work to designers and consultants for projects large and small. "Artist and naturalist, my process-focused work explores balance, pattern, and connection in a complex world. Celebrating Nature through form and movement, I want to show you how Nature and time constantly expand and contract all around us. My paintings build a welcoming space for imaginative play, an invitation to open up and dig in. I hope my work serves as a reminder to be receptive to beauty and mystery. And that, whether artist or viewer, individual life experience makes its way into every artwork while Nature reminds us we are all part of something larger." Artist and naturalist trained in studio art, graphic design, and landscape architecture, Michelle Louis' studio extends to her yard, where she nurtures an edible landscape. BA, University of Wisconsin, USA.
