Homeless Man Painting

This piece was inspired by the image of a homeless man in cloth cap. A lot of time has been spent shading the cap and replicating the lines on the mans lower cheek in his jumper. Similarly detail can be found in the lines around the eyes and forehead which give him such character. I often draw and paint homeless people, usually working from photography, and attempt to highlight the multifaceted nature of everybody through this, perhaps especially the homeless. My character looks apprehensive or thoughtful, worried about the future perhaps. It may even be the immediate future, ie.finding shelter for the night.
