In this artwork, I wanted to capture the timeless beauty of nature and its interaction with the cosmos. Using acrylic paintings, I created a visual dialogue between delicate flora and space. Lilies are one of my favorite flowers, both in painting and in the garden. Their flower shape is a beauty standard and lilies have been widely represented throughout different periods of Art history. I painted these lilies at the end of Winter, longing for Summer. In my painting, the flowers grow on an imaginary planet. They are self-sustaining and beautiful, but even on this planet, the lilies are visited by some insects – lily beetle, snail and moth. I chose copper and caper tones for the background, and olive green and white with blue tints for depicting the lilies.
