About The Artwork
Midsommar - a celebration of summer, a celebration of the sun, joy, love, fertility and abundance. On the longest day of the year, wreaths were made and wild flowers were selected, usually herbs with magical properties related to love and eroticism. My painting tells the story of the idyllic nature of that day, a lazy, pleasant time sprinkled with sunshine, a moment of togetherness, and wreath-making. Back to nature.

Monika Konczakowska was born in 1973 in Gdańsk. Graduated from Academy of Fine Arts. Currently teaching painting and drawing at the Faculty of Architecture in Sopot University of Applied Sciences. Since 2008 cooperates with the City Theatre Miniatura in Gdańsk.
