Naturale 101 Painting

I arrived in the US from my Jamaican heritage in 1990. My career as an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner has evolved as much as my art. I am self taught in art: however, it has been inspirational in allowing my expression to be projected in each of my paintings. This process has also provided me a platform to encourage my patients to use art therapeutically for their mental wellbeing and find complete serenity during difficult times while also allowing me to unwind at the end of the day. Each of my one-of-a kind abstract art treasures will have its own character enhanced by using fabrics such as voile, gauze, open weaves and linen, draped and creating sculpture from within my canvas. My laissez-faire approach to my art pieces allows each creation to illuminate and provoke one’s senses. Each piece is protected with high quality varnish, safely protecting the art piece from the environment’s light and dust . The edges are painted, and each painting is ready to hang. Each piece also includes a certificate of authenticity. In the words of Vincent Van Gogh, “When I paint, I do not think.”
