About The Artwork

This painting is the representation of love and passion towards Oriental Art, which inspired me for many years of my life in the creation of artworks. Here I created a 4-corners symmetrical figure, which reminds us of the Ottomans' style, colors and traditions, reported to mosaics, enamels, ceramic decorations and carpets. This Ottoman painting has a fresh style, given by the use of relaxing colors, in this case blue, light blue, white, light yellow and brown; it gives me a sense of peace, besides being decorous, and I hope to be the same for the collector who loves Oriental art as much as I do!

Luigi Ballarin has begun his artistic career in the 90s in his homeland, Venice; in 2000 he moved to Rome and, after an invitation for a personal exhibition, he fell in love with Istanbul and started to work there. Luigi's art is a union between East and West and summarizes in iconic images the suggestions of the minor arts, which travelled the paths of trade and travelers, and merged the different traditions: the decorations of majolica, enamels of goldsmiths, embroideries of precious fabrics. He currently lives and works in the three cities, creating a union between different cultures with a unique artistic language and painting techniques, characterized by material backgrounds, which evoke mosaics, enamels, ceramic decorations, carpets. Luigi continually offers us the two souls: that of birth and that of election. There is nothing more Venetian in this. Venice gives birth to you and then pushes you out to seek the other from you, only to find him next door when you return home, in a spiral of encounter and re-encounter.
