Instagram : cliffe70 For this painting I was inspired by snorkel excursions where I have witnessed beautiful colors and biodiversity but also the bleached, dead coral. I am hopeful that by painting about coral and its importance in sea and terrestrial life, people will be more proactive to curb waste that harms the sea. I set out to use repetitive brushstrokes that i have seen in paintings by Robert Ryman with the fluidity of the paintings by Helen Frankenthaler.
