This striking native Australian tree sometimes referred to as silver Princess gum tree, displays fascinating bark and unique pink or red flowers with yellow anthers in the late winter or early spring and soon followed by bell shaped fruit. I used pink and red together on the flowers and white and grey and orange on the stems. I also used yellow and two different greens and blue in the leaves and the shadows in dark green on the leaves, the background was made black to make the flowers pop. I enjoyed painting this beautiful Tree as its has so many intense rich colours and the shape of the leaves are slimline giving this painting an elegant look about it.
