Actually I painted this while sitting in my car parked across the street from The Colony Hotel in Delray Beach. I love the old Spanish architecture which this hotel has and I was also excited that there was a man sitting outside reading the newspaper. I love the quick rendering look of this painting which I did have to do rapidly to catch the man still sitting there. Also I love the colors of the awnings and the big potted plants outside, not to mention the charming architecture of the hotel. This oil painting on paper has 1.5 border around the entire painting making the outside dimensions 12'x16" which is a standard size for a frame.

Growing up in Punta Gorda, Florida where everything was on the water, water skiing, swimming, fishing and most of the streets are still made of brick, my childhood was a very happy one with no shortage of friends in our neighborhood.. My expressive subjects are primarily figures and abstracts as well as interiors, landscapes and still lifes. I love combining vibrant colors with a rhythmical movement in my compositions
