Spring Of The Mind Painting

The image itself is almost a critique on ourselves, for following trends without understanding what the practices we adapt really mean. I see so many of us just following the herd, wherever they go, and it doesn't matter if were right or wrong, its like were sheep. This piece is a call to action to wake up from pour slumber, remove the blindfold and allow the Spring of the Mind to flourish in our lives, and bring forward what we truly deserve and wish for. This image is a reminder to be free, no matter how many layers of restrictions are in place. I hope viewers feel identified with their uniqueness being enclosed in their surrounding life and community, and I hope the vibrant and colorful approach brings some sort of reminder that you are not alone, we're all in this together, but we most follow our hearts individually. During my years in art school I mistakenly dropped a can of house paint on an illustration I was working on. I put it outside in the patio to dry while I cleaned up the mess, and then forgot about it. When I came back the next day, the paint had dried over the paper, and I decided the piece of dry paint was fun looking, so I peeled the paper off and discovered I had transferred the illustration on the paint! After many years of trial and error, I was able to master the technique and I now paint on both sides of the work, and have multiple ways of suspending the work to hang like a tapestry made entirely out of paint. In many cases they cane turned around to display the 2nd painting behind it, or suspend it from the ceiling in an area that it could be seen in 360 degrees.
