About The Artwork

This mixed media canvas painting is 20”x24” framed in white and is inspired by all of the patterns in my pollinator garden. Incorporating art with pollinator patterns into interior design offers several benefits, including fostering a connection to nature, enhancing aesthetic appeal, and promoting environmental awareness. The vibrant colors and intricate designs of pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds can brighten up any space, creating a lively and uplifting atmosphere. This nature-inspired decor can also have a calming effect, making interiors feel more inviting and serene. Additionally, such designs can serve as subtle reminders of the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem, encouraging conservation efforts and a greater appreciation for biodiversity.

Judy Doherty is an American-born artist based in Denver, Colorado, where she resides with three beloved golden doodle dogs. She is a coop artist member of D’art Gallery on Sante Fe Drive in Denver. She is the mom of one adult son living in the Bay Area. Judy works with many mediums, including watercolors, gouache, acrylic, carbon, charcoal, and ink, on topics about environmental sustainability. Currently, she is working on illuminating the importance of pollinators and the urgent need to protect their habitats. With the declining populations of butterflies and other pollinating insects, we face a looming threat to global food security and ecological stability. She strives to raise awareness of this pressing environmental issue through her art. Judy began her art career at age 4, working alongside her mom, one of 5 founding members of the Palm Beach Watercolor Society, carving wood for prints, painting, sculpting, and making collages. She attended the Culinary Institute of America and became a pastry chef before launching a successful commercial food photography studio.
