About The Artwork
This painting is a continuation of my "Aja" series of abstracts which involve figures floating in fields of color and combine both abstract and representational elements for a bold, modern feel. The image is acrylic and pastel on canvas sprayed with a fixative to protect the pastel. The artist was aiming for an atmospheric feel which was intended to invoke themes of the universe and infinity. The painting has a wrap-around design where the surface colors are continued on all sides of the piece. The work is wired on the back for hanging.
