About The Artwork

I spent an entire morning trying to locate this bird in the woods. It seemed to have a way of throwing its voice so that when you follow its singing you never seem to find it. When I finally saw the chat among the green spring oaks, its yellow glow was like a beacon. It seemed so obvious and the feeling of finding it so glorious that I had to commemorate it in this series. When things elude us there is a point when we want to give up, but in doing so, you never know what you'll find. The work is professionally framed in a solid redwood frame. It is "floating"in the frame, which means none of the edges are covered. The measurements with frame are: 11 1/8" (H) x 11 1/8"(W) x 1 3/16" (D). Ready to hang. The wood used to paint on is birch, and the paints are from R&F Handmade Encaustics Paints, a professional grade artist wax based paint.
