About The Artwork
The Fates were three daughter goddesses of Zeus and Themis; Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Clotho spun the thread of life, deciding how one is born. Lachesis decided a mortal's lifespans by measuring the thread of life. Atropos regulated how someone died by cutting the thread of life with her shears.
