About The Artwork
I was visiting Mexico to deliver lectures as a guest of the Mexican Cancer Society and to receive a medal for my lifetime achievements. The meeting was in VeraCruz where I spotted this mother and daughter in the market. I made a quick sketch and took a discrete picture. Once I was home I decided to paint the scene in the style of Diego Rivera.
