About The Artwork
Inspired by David Hockney's dog portraits I decided to paint a portrait of a friend's dog. I had been given some 'antique-looking' frames and wanted to give the painting a 'regal' look in the style of portraits on display in Britain's stately homes. The painting is on canvas on board. The frame is an integral part of the work and had been discreetly decorated with some of the leaves and flowers coloured.

Cecilia Rouncefield is a printmaker and painter. She has a painting currently on show at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, 2023. This painting is a picture of Larry the cat who lives at 10 Downing Street. She has previously, exhibited a series of linocut prints featuring a jolly badger engaging in various outdoor activities and sports. So a major success, in previous years, was the selection of her 'Yellow Jersey' print for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2018. Cecilia has exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy Autumn Exhibition in 2012 and 2017. Two paintings were shown at the Bristol Art Prize 2013 at the Guildhall. One of these - 'Shopping Mall at Night' featured as the cover image for the 'Bristol' Magazine. Cecilia was also pleased to be part of the 'Sacred Art' exhibition at the fabulous Aberglasney Gardens in Wales in 2016
