Without bright plumage, the Lesser goldfinch is left to offer his prospective mate a thistle seed as a symbol of his devotion. "Yes" is such a small word and like a seed, a gift. The work is professionally framed in a solid redwood frame. It is "floating"in the frame, which means none of the edges are covered. The measurements with frame are: 10"(H) x 13" (W) x 1 3/16" (D). Ready to hang. The wood used to paint on is birch, and the paints are from R&F Handmade Encaustics Paints, a professional grade artist wax based paint.
