About The Artwork

"The world was catching me and couldn't catch me" - beautiful words of Hryhoriy Skovoroda and the title of this painting. The bird symbolizes a person, and flowers - the world, and what is in the world, it tempts us, something more attractive in appearance, something less. But there is no one who would not be tempted by anything, so the bird is not completely white, it has the colors of the flowers it touched. After all, everything we do, what we touch leaves its mark on us, but the bird was still able to fly away and escape from temptations, even if some of them are still too attractive. I wonder what kind of bird each person will become? The one that will be caught by the world, or the one that will fly freely. The picture is made using the technique of Petrykivsky painting - this is a Ukrainian technique of decorative painting, but in this picture it has been slightly changed.
