This work was conceived as an exploration of using an asemic writing system or notation system to "score" an imaginary symphony or musical composition. The work is divided into a series of horizontal lines of whimsical notation, each line representing a new phrase in the composition, and each divided by a dashed boundary / divider. Intentionally, the color tone of the notation transitions from cooler to warmer tones as the composition "score" progresses from the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. Scattered throughout are imaginary and intuitive "annotations" of the score - mysteriously cryptic symbols scattered like little treasures about the work, designed to perplex and stimulate creative musics for the motivated viewer. An experimental technique explored in the production of this work involved use of a toothed silicone scraper tool for smearing paint horizontally in order to produce a lined effect in the notation - an allusion to the staves one might find in Western musical notation.
