About The Artwork
An underwater close-up of bubbles formed by photosynthesizing algae and the tiny garden of invertebrates of the stream bed. While working with researchers to understand stream dynamics in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, I experimented with photographing the passing events we were capturing in our data points. I think of the photographs as a complement to scientific methods: a momentary event and a personal perspective. As artwork, it has its own kind of rigor, durability and authority. Prints are limited to an edition of 30. I print them myself on Moab Exhibition Luster 300gsm acid free paper on an Epson P800 pigment printer for the highest archival durability in digital imaging.
