My artistic journey has been a remarkable dance between two passions: traditional painting and creating one-of-a-kind original artworks. This evolution has defined my path and speaks to my artistic soul. Since discovering my artistic inclination in school, I’ve navigated the challenges of pursuing a career in the arts with the encouragement of my loving parents. My journey of self-discovery over the past thirty-five years has shaped an approach that values simplicity and honesty. Everyday life becomes my muse, and I see all subjects as potential compositions. I perceive and experience the world through the lens of a painter, using light and composition as my expressive tools. Life itself is my canvas, allowing me to create themes and groupings within my portfolio. I often work on various projects simultaneously, often spanning years. My creative process is guided by intuition, devoid of restrictions on substrates, mediums, or techniques. Emotion and experimentation fuel my art, and I embrace the beauty of imperfection. In my work, I pay intense attention to elemental forms, rhythms, and patterns, finding simplicity to be a compelling force in visual impact. My artistic style draws inspiration from several great artists. Henri Cartier-Bresson influences my social commentary and documentary pieces, while Henri Matisse and Jackson Pollock inspire my still-life and abstract studies. Today, I feel I have come full circle, and I'm as comfortable holding a palette knife or brush in front of a canvas as I am creating mixed media pieces. I firmly believe that my steps have been guided along a purposeful path by an awesome and caring Creator. I've never wavered in my burning passion for art. It's not just what I do; it's what I love, and it's an integral part of who I am.
