About The Artwork

“Garnier” is work based on a photo taken in 2008 of the southern flytower of the Opera Garnier in Paris and colour manipulated into a soft bronze, almost nude, monotone finish. Opera Garnier was designed by architect Charles Garnier in what he coined as the Napoleon III Style and was constructed between 1861 and 1865 quickly becoming a symbol of Paris. Notably, to fans of the Broadway or musical theatre, Opera Garnier is also the setting for the popular musical Phantom of the Opera. This image captures the pinnacle of the impressive south façade of the opera, taken with from the middle of Avenue de l’Opera. Apollo holds high his lyre, flanked by poetry and music in a sculpture by Aime Millet. - Prints are printed on high-quality archival cotton rag fine art paper with a white border. Each print is limited edition certified and shipped rolled. Though some grain and blur may be present due to the unique properties of these works, all prints are reproduced at high resolution to reduce any irregularities. Imperfection in hand-held street photography is why we love it!
