Peter Harrison is a Commercial Pilot and Accredited Professional Photographer (APP AIPP), based in Lake Macquarie NSW, Australia. Combining a passion for flying and photography, Peter began shooting aerials in 1992 with a Pentax 6x7 medium format film camera. Today he is a multiple International Award Winning Photographer. His inspiring images captured throughout Australia present a unique, fresh, dynamic and professional body of work. Many of those images have been published in numerous media including Australian Geographic, News Ltd publications, Qantas Ltd, Nine Network, Microsoft, Seven Network Peter operates his own aircraft, a Cessna Cardinal 177RG. The high wing and retractable undercarriage make the aircraft the ideal platform for aerial photography. Peter is passionate about creating beautiful imagery that inspires people. “From red sandy deserts to snow covered mountains, coral reefs to pink lakes, vast flood plains to dense rainforest, the Australian landscape is truly vast and diverse. In many places the only way to see it in all its glory is from the air. The aircraft gives me the opportunity to see places few people see. “My goal is to convey meaning and information in my photographs, documenting the dynamics of nature and human impact at work. Sharing these perspectives with others, is exciting for me. I try to compose the image so it’s interesting to the eye, it’s more than just holding the camera out the window. It’s sharing the joy of what I see from above, inspiring you also to get out and experience this great country. I want you to feel the WOW Factor, like when you see a scene on just the right day in the right light, you’re seeing something unique, because every day is different. A powerful image with beautiful lighting evokes different emotions in people. I’m just happy if I’ve given someone that pleasure.”
