About The Artwork

Rising (2024) ©Sarah C Perkins This moment was captured on the shores of paradise. Feeling the first rays of morning light, the world is slowly waking to another day full of hope and promise. 🎨 This photograph features an applied creative technique. From an original photograph, I apply a color pulling technique. This process involves using digital brushes to blend and smooth the natural colors of the image thus composing an abstract adaptation of the subject. To put a spin on reality and delve into a more creative realm, blurring the lines between real life and fantasy. My intent is to let the viewer feel the illusion, to visually become one with the piece. To let their eyes relax, sense the motion and transport their imagination into a whimsical world. My inspiration ~ Nature and Light. My intent ~ To evoke a sense of serenity in this chaotic world. My purpose ~ To bring an appreciation of our surroundings with timeless images. My Fine Art Giclée Photographs are printed on smooth matte paper (100% Cotton Hot Press Paper) using archival pigment inks. Acid-free, pH-neutral paper Limited Edition of 25 ~ 40x60 loose prints. Each print includes a Certificate of Authenticity and is signed and numbered. Please contact me if interested in a print size other than shown.

“Photography is more than clicking the shutter. It is about capturing a moment, expressing emotion and exploring delicate details often overlooked. My surroundings constantly inspire me to see life as art.” From humble beginnings in a high school darkroom, an artist emerged with a hunger for visual arts. Sarah immediately felt a connection to her Minolta and became inspired by nature. Upon graduation, Sarah was accepted to Northern Kentucky University on a Fine Arts scholarship where she honed her photography skills and for over 30 years, has worked in the field. In that time, her love of travel exposed her to the wonders of the world and the beauty that surrounds us. Her artistic vision is always searching for the next shot. Time slips away as she becomes immersed in her subject, studying composition, light and shadow, inspecting all angles as the image emerges. Although Sarah’s primary inspiration is the natural world, the allure of timeless architecture and weathered, rustic charm draws her attention as well. Sarah has refined her craft by focusing on her passion every day. As rolls of film and trays of chemicals have given way to digital development, Sarah now works with a high-end Canon camera to capture her work. She spends countless hours using the latest software to meticulously examine each file and perfect the image before revealing the final piece. As a visual artist, Sarah goes beyond the norms of photography. With creative freedom, she transforms select traditional images into surreal abstract pieces, giving them a dreamy or painting-esque quality. “From an original photograph, I apply a color pulling technique.
