About The Artwork
Portraits of artists that I love Ernest Kirchner is one of the artists that I have loved since I was in college. The German Expressionist School is the movement that I researched and studied deeply in terms of stories and aesthetics. I created a series of portraits for an exhibition about the Brazilian writer Guimaraes Rosa. I explored the story called Mirror, which is a surreal story about a man and his image refraction. I started thinking about how it would be to look at the mirror and see my idols on it. So I dedicated this series to creating a reflection of artists that I admire as a kind of alter ego.

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Silvana Soriano is a visual artist, art teacher from MDCPS, and illustrator currently based in Miami, Florida. Soriano has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Brazil, Spain, France, the USA, and Cuba, including having her work featured at Pinta Miami Art Fair and Volta Art Fair New York. She is represented by The CAMP gallery in Miami. She has also illustrated several books, spanning from children’s literature to poetry and publishing an art magazine online.
