BIO Natalia is a sculptor and artist born and raised in a small mining town in Siberia, Russia. She earned two law degrees and then opened her own law practice, which she ran until 2014. Looking for a change in her life and realizing her long-time dream of living by the sea, in 2015 Natalia moved to the coast of Bulgaria, Varna. In 2018, Natalia had to endure serious life challenges. As a result of which, due to a tumor, she lost vision in one eye, and peripheral vision in the other was severely limited. It is from this moment that Natalia begins her creative journey, and her search for answers to fundamental questions, about meaning and truth. On a subconsciously intuitive level, following her hands, Natalia begins to create art as an extension of herself, to communicate with the world. Natalia's statement, "I feel the world with my hands." In 2022 Natalia created her first series of sculptures called "Möbius strip" using artificial stone, works that have been recognized by Saatchi Art online gallery and London Biennale 2023. In 2022, Natalia graduated from author Julia Sysalova's online school of ART Communication. And in 2023 she started to work with ceramics, her work immediately begins to win the prize on the art market. And now her works can be seen on international art platforms. In 2024 Natalia starts to create paintings in her unique style and technique. And now Natalia declares that this is the new beginning of her journey. ARTIST`S STATMENT My art is the embodiment of the philosophy of searching for the way and striving to know the deep truth of life. For many centuries the works of philosophy, religion, esotericism have been studying and learning the essence of the meaning of life and the truth of our existence. My personal trials have served as a foundation and inspiration for my own research and knowledge of truth through art on a tactile level. Having lost sight in one eye, my tactile senses were sharpened and I began to feel the world with my hands. Touch, as a true and undistorted perception, became an authentic key for me to understand deep philosophical themes. By creating sculptures in clay, through the embodiment of the principle of softness and strength, I demonstrate the process of inner transformation. My work is inspired by great masters such as Henry Moore and Constantin Brancusi, who also strived for purity and simplicity of form.
